About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as Head of Legal Services and Policy. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization and ensuring that our legal advice services meet the needs of working parents and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of our legal advice services, ensuring that they are timely, effective, and fit for purpose.
  • Manage a team of legal advisors and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to provide high-quality advice to our clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including law firms, charities, and government agencies, to ensure that our services are aligned with their needs and priorities.
  • Identify and manage strategic judicial interventions, collaborating with our Head of Policy and Influencing to develop policy relevant to employment legislation.
  • Support the development of our 5-year plan, ensuring that our legal advice services are aligned with our organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Legal qualification as a solicitor or barrister with at least 5 years PQE with a reputable organization.
  • Expertise in and experience of providing autonomous advice on employment law and discrimination.
  • Ability to identify policy issues arising from advice work and collaborate with our Head of Policy and Influencing to develop policy relevant to employment legislation.
  • Ability to manage a budget and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience of establishing rapport, credibility, and collaborative relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders at the highest level both internally and externally.
