Internal IT Support Specialist

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire with hybrid flexibility

Salary: £36,000 - £42,000 (Dependent on experience)

Employment Type: Permanent

We are collaborating with a prominent provider of asset financing solutions that cater to a diverse range of industry sectors, serving both commercial and private clients. They are currently seeking a skilled Internal IT Support Specialist to enhance their team in Blackburn.

The established IT Service department is dedicated to elevating service quality, support, knowledge, and consistency throughout the organization.

In this multifaceted role, reporting directly to the IT Service & Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in managing and delivering applications, ensuring high-quality network and communication services, and maintaining robust infrastructure to facilitate daily operations and support the ongoing growth of the organization.

You will be expected to handle IT service requests in a systematic and well-documented manner, both in-person and remotely, ensuring the highest standards of discreet service while balancing critical priorities and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Support (70%)

Take ownership of first and second line support, ensuring timely monitoring, assignment, updating, and resolution of incidents and service requests logged in the Service Desk ticketing system, with all work accurately documented.

Respond promptly and accurately to service requests, maintaining awareness of SLAs and KPIs.

Provide desktop support for staff utilizing standard industry PC hardware and software.

Offer support and coverage during incidents, holidays, or absences of team members, with occasional out-of-hours work as project demands dictate.

Prepare and provision new and replacement IT hardware and infrastructure for the organization.

Maintenance (20%)

Conduct preventative administration and maintenance of the server stack and infrastructure.

Other/General (10%)

Assist colleagues, the broader IT team, and the organization on various projects.

Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

Ability to prioritize workload effectively.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Adept at presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership when addressing user issues.

Proficiency in Windows operating systems (11 and Server).

Experience in virtual server environments (VMWare).

Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

Understanding of cyber security best practices.

Experience with administrative tools including Active Directory, Entra, InTune, Defender, and SharePoint.

Knowledge of PC hardware and printers.

Familiarity with the ITIL framework is advantageous.

This role is primarily office-based in Blackburn, but under the company's agile working policy, there is potential for remote work for up to 2 days a week, following comprehensive training and in accordance with business needs and managerial discretion.
