About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technology Risk Analyst to join our First Line Information Technology & Security Risk team at Starling Bank. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational resilience and preparedness of our organization.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Executing day-to-day activities to ensure the continued operational resilience and preparedness of the organization
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including second and third lines, to prevent, respond, recover, and learn from operational disruption events
  • Working on a variety of issues, including actively supporting the management of the Bank's technical resilience and continuity arrangements, creating, maintaining, and updating the Bank's continuity and recovery documentation, and working across Technology teams to ensure that resilience, continuity, and recovery activities are completed

Key Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of operational resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery standards and best practice
  • Strong analytic ability to look at complex business processes, identify opportunities for, and where appropriate, recommend business process improvements
  • Pragmatic approach and ability to work collaboratively in a technology-driven environment to develop proportionate response plans
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the operational regulatory environment
  • Take responsibility and do the right thing for customers, colleagues, and partners

We are looking for individuals with experience across one or more of these areas. It is not expected that you will have worked in all of these.

The following skills and experience are desirable:

  • Experience working within financial services or business continuity management. Alternatively, experience in business operations teams or wider risk management
  • Experience of working with industry-recognized standards and frameworks such as ISO and NIST
  • Experience of information technology systems and processes, including cloud
  • Experience working with key stakeholders, developing working relationships, and providing insightful management reporting/information
  • Good attention to detail, plus analysis and presentation skills
  • Flexibility in your approach to meeting goals as part of the wider team
  • An innovative mindset and general interest in information technology, automation, and development (including coding)
