Senior Risk Analyst Job Description

We are partnering with a leading Insurance firm to find a Senior Risk Analyst to support their team. This company is renowned for its innovative solutions and commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work environment.

The role will assist the Risk Manager in a line 2 capacity, covering Risk, Compliance, and Data Protection & Privacy for established clients. The Senior Risk Analyst will primarily work with the Business area, requiring commercial lines and/or broker experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a 12-month plan outlining key Risk, Compliance, and DPP activities.
  • Ensure coverage adheres to Group frameworks, policies, and expectations.
  • Perform key activities in line with the agreed 12-month plan or as requested by the Board.
  • Provide advice and guidance to businesses, ensuring alignment with the risk appetite.
  • Embed a culture of governance, making it everyone's responsibility.
  • Provide regular updates to the Risk Management Committee and Board on progress against the 12-month plan.
  • Share updates with Group Risk, Compliance, and DPP as necessary.
  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships, including Senior Managers and Board members.
  • Arrange periodic touchpoints to facilitate open dialogue and understanding of upcoming priorities and challenges.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to support the business, reflecting the level of risk, materiality, maturity, and stakeholder input.
  • Oversee the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and local BCPs for businesses/functions.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging corporate governance changes and help the business understand their impact.
Requirements:
  • Commercial lines or broker experience is essential.
  • Able to build open relationships and gain consensus with stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic risk-based approach to advice and decision-making.
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, as well as part of a team.
  • Able to multi-task, work under pressure, and lead projects.
  • Objective, timely, and confident decision-making skills.
  • Attention to detail, with an analytical mindset.
  • Commercially minded.
  • Evidence of working on regulatory submissions.
  • Experience in a governance-focused role.
