Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our Hydrogen Energy Solutions team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for hydrogen-based equipment, including refuelers, fuel storage, and installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for hydrogen-based equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with controls and electrical engineers to support the complete system design.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including CAD models and O&M manuals.
  • Ensure adherence to H&S, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain project PED and HAZOP documentation.

Success Measures:

  • Deliver completed mechanical design projects with associated documentation and CAD models.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline (e.g., structural design, machine design, pressure vessels, or fluid dynamics).
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering (construction or civil engineering).
  • CAD proficiency in 3D and 2D.
  • Autodesk Inventor 3D proficiency.
  • Mechanical engineering design experience: structural and pressure vessels.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards, regulations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Project Management skills.
