Position Overview
The Operations team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals is in search of a seasoned and driven senior nurse with a background in acute care to become a part of our Clinical Operations Management team. This role encompasses responsibilities across all facilities within the Trust, operating continuously throughout the year. We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience at a senior nursing level, ideally at Band 7 or above.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with:
- Overseeing the management of both emergency and scheduled patient admissions across the Trust, ensuring safe and suitable patient placements while meeting local and national standards.
- Providing clinical leadership and support to all departments and wards, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Implementing operational policies and procedures, offering guidance and support to Trust staff.
- Participating in and coordinating emergency response teams for various incidents, including fire and security alerts.
- Taking a lead role in managing major incidents that occur outside of regular hours.
- Reporting to the on-call manager and ensuring adherence to established escalation protocols.
- Managing patient flow across the Trust, ensuring timely admissions and effective discharge processes.
- Coordinating hospital handovers between Clinical Service Units and the Corporate Operations Team, with a focus on patient safety and performance.
