SRG is partnering with a leading life science organization to find an experienced EHS Manager to shape the company's EHS strategy.

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing management, oversight, and direction of the Environmental, Health, and Safety and sustainability programs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance:** Ensure compliance with local regulatory EHS requirements, company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • **EHS Strategy and Objectives:** Support corporate EHS strategy and objectives, contribute to the development and implementation of EHS programs, and promote a culture of EHS excellence.
  • **Policy Development:** Develop environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation of the business and to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • **ISO14001 Accreditation:** Lead and ensure compliance with ISO14001 accreditation.
  • **Performance Monitoring:** Monitor performance of Environmental Health and Safety programs, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
  • **Regulatory Expertise:** Act as a local expert in safety, health, environmental regulatory issues, and manage compliance activities on these matters.
  • **Permitting and Compliance Strategies:** Develop and negotiate permitting and compliance strategies with regulatory agencies.
  • **EHS Resource Planning:** Develop and evaluate EHS resource requirements and annual budget.
  • **Risk Assessments and Audits:** Ensure compliance in areas of environmental, safety, and health through risk assessments, self-audits, and investigations, and assist in the development of controls to reduce or eliminate hazards found within the workplace.
  • **Regulatory Updates:** Keep current with all new and pending EHS regulations that might have an impact on the business.
  • **Collaboration:** Collaborate with all departments to ensure all EHS requirements are considered when introducing new policies, processes, or equipment.
  • **Record Keeping:** Maintain all records and reports as defined by regulatory agencies and company guidelines.

**Requirements:**

  • **Qualifications:** Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety and/or Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, or related scientific discipline.
  • **Experience:** Extensive knowledge of UK health and safety legislation as well as experience of providing expert advice to managers on health and safety within a similar environment.
  • **Regulated Environment:** Prior experience working in a GxP/regulated environment would be beneficial.
  • **EHS Projects:** Experience of introducing EHS and sustainability projects would be advantageous.
  • **Organizational and Communication Skills:** Strong organizational and communication skills.
