About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interventional Radiologist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Imaging department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality imaging services with a focus on Interventional Radiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high-quality imaging service with a focus on Interventional Radiology
  • Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of all patients presenting to the Hospital
  • Share in the general radiology work of the department, including on-call commitments
  • Support radiographers and sonographer staff in the department and be involved in the teaching and training of specialist registrars, junior medical staff, nursing staff, and medical students
  • Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit
  • Have responsibility for and actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD)
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Full GMC Registration and license to practice
  • Subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology
  • Fellowship in Interventional Radiology from an accredited centre (desirable)
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT or CESR
  • MB BS, FRCR or equivalent
  • MD, PhD or other higher degree (desirable)
  • EBIR
Requirements

We require the successful candidate to have:

  • Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in Interventional Radiology
  • Proven expertise and training in GI/GU/hepatobiliary/vascular interventions
  • Able to take full and independent responsibility for clinical work and delivering service
  • Evidence of management experience or training
  • Teaching of medicine to trainees and other medical students
  • Ability to communicate effectively and co-operate well with all staff and patients
  • Flexible attitude, team player with good time management
  • Leadership skills
  • Reside within 10 miles of hospital or a 30-minute drive from the hospital
  • Fit to undertake the role
