About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Building Surveyor to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our building surveying team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on building regulations and safety standards to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design team and ensure that design principles are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide principal designer services for CDM 2015 and building regulations to our clients across all RIBA Stages.
  • Collaborate with the wider design disciplines, client personnel, and construction teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Manage direct reports' work outputs to ensure they are timely, in scope, and of a quality expected.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
Requirements
  • MRICS or CIOB (Level 4 diploma in building control surveying) qualification.
  • Strong knowledge base including building control approvals and consultancy.
  • Delivery of work outputs within set time frames and commercial goals.
  • Commitment, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
  • Team player capable of a flexible approach.
  • Energetic and self-motivated.
  • Strong IT capabilities, including working experience of Microsoft Office and tablet & mobile data collection.
