Position Overview

About the Opportunity

We are thrilled to present a role for a Peripatetic Community Engagement Navigator to join our dedicated Calderdale Recovery Steps Team. This position offers a dynamic and fulfilling experience, working flexibly across various hubs, where you will:
  • Provide a welcoming and person-centered approach, ensuring a positive experience for all service users.
  • Facilitate the transition of individuals from initial contact to structured treatment, ensuring timely access to necessary support.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to address individual needs as they arise.
  • Play a vital role in minimizing substance-related harm for individuals and the broader community.
  • Work collaboratively with key partners and colleagues to achieve optimal health and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Maintain excellent professional boundaries while applying co-production principles throughout the treatment and recovery process.
  • Think innovatively about treatment options and transitions within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency framework.
  • Encourage service users to actively participate in the service and engage in user forums that foster a sense of belonging.
  • Although this is a non-case holding position, you will assist with case management tasks as needed, including covering for absences.
By diligently working as part of an integrated multi-agency team, you will implement intensive, co-created recovery-oriented and harm reduction strategies, promoting meaningful and sustainable health improvements.

You will provide specialized knowledge and interventions related to substance use, ensuring that individuals receive appropriate treatment tailored to their current circumstances. You will focus on delivering treatment at the right intensity and pace, while proactively opening doors for enhanced recovery and achieving mutually agreed successful outcomes. Adopting a Strength-Based Approach, you will collaborate with other frontline practitioners to leverage individual and community assets.

You will be resourceful, articulate on behalf of service users, and resilient in the face of change and challenges.

Working Hours - Monday to Thursday, with potential late finishes up to 7 PM (30 hours per week). A valid driving license is required for travel between sites.
