Job Title: Night Team Leader

As a Night Team Leader at Devon County Council, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care services to our service users. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires strong leadership and management skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of care assistants and housekeeping services staff to deliver care and support to service users with varying levels of need and dependency.
  • Ensure that care and services are delivered in accordance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and Royal Pharmaceutical Standards.
  • Supervise the safe administration and assistance with medication, ensuring compliance with CQC and Royal Pharmaceutical Standards.
  • Manage the full line supervision, appraisals, and development of care and housekeeping support staff on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure effective management of service users' admissions and discharges.
  • Work to safeguard vulnerable service users and maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Liaise with other agencies and professionals, including care management staff and residential unit staff.
  • Contribute to records that ensure compliance with CQC Standards and DCC policies.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the premises, staff, and clients.
  • Report any issues of concern to the line manager and relevant authorities as required.
  • Oversee the general running of the service in the absence of the Deputy Manager.
  • Participate in the training of new staff as part of the Induction process.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as necessary.
  • Be involved in the recruitment of care staff.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
