Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic junior registered nurse to join our gastroenterology team at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

The successful candidate will work on a mixed-sex ward for nursing general medical patients with a sub-specialty in acute and chronic gastroenterology disorders.

Our team is supported by a knowledgeable group of doctors, ward nurses, specialist GI nurses, gastro unit, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and pharmacists.

We prioritize patient-centered care, ensuring that our patients receive individualized and holistic care.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in gastroenterology, including the management of inflammatory bowel disease, GI cancers, and nutritional issues.

We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, but Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patients with inflammatory bowel disease, GI cancers, and nutritional issues
  • Insert and care for nasogastric tubes, shadow specialist nurses, and undertake IV additives training
  • Develop leadership skills and work towards a master's degree
  • Provide evidence-based, holistic, and individualized care for patients and their families
