Position Overview
As an Experienced Family Support Specialist, you will be a vital member of a dynamic team dedicated to assisting children, young individuals, and their families across various environments.
Team Structure
Join our Regionwide Team where you will engage directly with service users and collaborate with professionals from other organizations.
Role Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support to children and their families within the Children and Families Team.
- Assessing referrals, including those related to child protection.
- Assisting social workers during the assessment process and accompanying them on visits.
- Offering support to colleagues and families alike.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Direct experience working with children and young people.
- The ability to build effective relationships with families.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in maintaining accurate records.
- Knowledge of Council Information systems (Mosaic) is advantageous.
- SVQ Level 3/ K Health and Social Care or equivalent qualifications.
Personal Attributes
You should be energetic, adaptable, and capable of responding to changing situations with initiative and experience from related work settings.
Training and Support
Comprehensive induction training will be provided, along with ongoing support, supervision, and team meetings.
Additional Requirements
A valid driving license is essential for this role. Consideration will be given for alternative transport arrangements for candidates with disabilities that prevent them from holding a driving license.
This position is classified as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, necessitating compliance with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act.
Applicants who have resided outside the UK in the past five years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in those countries if offered a position.
