South West Water is seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Resources Planner to join our team. As a key member of our water resources management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and sustainable management of our water resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement water resources management strategies to meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the effective planning and execution of water resources projects.
  • Conduct hydrological modeling and supply system modeling to forecast future water supplies and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and apply investment decision-making tools to assess the best-value options for water resources infrastructure investments.
  • Proactively manage supply strategy to support the delivery of business objectives.
  • Lead the integration of water supply requirements with other catchment drivers, such as water quality management and flood risk mitigation.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in engaging internal and external stakeholders and partners, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Critical thinking skills coupled with strong decision-making capabilities to ensure the conversion of data into a vision and strategy for the water resources team.
  • A blend of expertise, leadership, and innovation in the field of water resources management, with a strong commitment to sustainability, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate complex challenges while driving positive change.
  • Scientific/Environmental/Hydrology-related degree and experience in water resources planning in a regulated environment, with a focus on strategic planning and analysis.
  • Experience of running water resources system models such as Miser, Aquator, or PYWR, or with other hydraulic modeling tools such as EPANET or Infoworks.
