Role Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Housing Support Officer. Candidates must possess a valid driving license and have appropriate business insurance.
Adhere to the responsibilities outlined in the council's health and safety guidelines.
Manage inquiries with professionalism (in-person, written, or via telephone) within established corporate timelines.
Uphold the highest standards of customer service.
Assist in the management of databases and the maintenance of rent collection systems.
Encourage diversity in service provision.
Provide coverage for telephone duty rosters.
Effectively address initial inquiries from clients approaching the Housing Department.
Implement basic measures to prevent arrears and manage housing effectively.
Support housing officers with compliance related to Gas Access and EICR.

Knowledge Requirements:

Legal Acumen:
Working knowledge of housing and public sector regulations.
Understanding of basic repairs and maintenance for residential properties and estates.

Diversity Awareness:
Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and mathematics) or equivalent educational qualifications.

Technical Skills:
Proficient in using software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, and email).

Communication Proficiency:
Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including letter composition.

Commitment to Service:
Dedicated to delivering high-quality housing management services for all community demographics.

Community Insight:
Clear understanding of Harrow's diverse communities and their implications for housing needs.
