About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special school in the UK. The successful candidate will work with students aged 6-12 who have Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs to ensure students receive tailored support.
  • Support students in their learning activities, promoting participation and engagement.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to provide comprehensive support.
  • Develop positive relationships with students, understanding their individual needs and strengths.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress.
Requirements
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH difficulties or autistic spectrum conditions is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to support students' emotional and academic needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and parents.
