Progression Coach (Work Placement) Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Progression Coach (Work Placement) to join our team at Barking & Dagenham College. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in facilitating sustainable post-course positive destinations for all cohorts of students across the college.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with heads of school, progression manager, and personal tutors to ensure work experience complements and adds value to learners' study programmes.
  • Visit learners on work experience placements where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on both manual and computerised systems.
  • Deliver work readiness workshops and support students to achieve positive destinations.
  • Collaborate with the Progression Manager to monitor and report on cross-college progress of learners, including information required to deliver on Gatsby Benchmarks, Matrix, and college quality assurance procedures.

Requirements:

  • NVQ 3 in Information, Advice, and Guidance or equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards within 1 year).
  • Experience of working in an education environment with young people.
  • Experience of working with employers to secure work placement opportunities in various sectors.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and maintain partnerships and networks.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding Legislation and its application within the educational sector.
  • Ability to work constructively with young people and adults.
