Our client welcomes applications from all backgrounds, including ex-military personnel, and values diverse skill sets. The primary responsibility of this role involves the installation of basic electrical components and assisting auto electricians with comprehensive installations.
Position Details:
Location: Corby
Work Schedule:
- 4-day work week
- 39 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 6:30 AM - 4:45 PM
- Fridays available for overtime at 1.3x pay
Compensation: £12.75 per hour
Job Type: Ongoing work with potential for long-term employment for suitable candidates.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Electric Vehicle Fitter will be responsible for:
- Assembling and installing all electrical components in commercial vehicles, such as BT, SKY, and RAC vans.
- Conducting functional checks post-installation to ensure compliance with company quality standards and ISO regulations.
- Completing necessary documentation, including checklists and inspection/test sheets.
- Ensuring adherence to relevant health and safety legislation.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues as they arise.
- Testing the viability of new products, processes, and methodologies.
- Participating in training to follow established work practices and adapting to new systems.
- Recording working hours accurately for payroll purposes.
- Performing additional reasonable duties as required by the company.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Knowledge of electrical operations within the automotive industry, preferably with NVQ level 3 qualifications in vehicle electrics.
- Ability to perform electrical fitting and assembly tasks on commercial vehicles.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, coupled with a proactive attitude.
- A willingness to seek improvements in processes.
- Capability to read electrical diagrams and apply problem-solving techniques effectively.
- After training, the ability to complete tasks within standard timeframes.
This position is part of the Corby team.
