Role Overview:
The Test System Design team plays a vital role in Powertrain Test Operations within the Engineering Operations Department at Jaguar Land Rover. This team is tasked with the integration of intricate prototype systems into the testing environment and is responsible for delivering System Designs to operational teams and external testing partners.
As a Lead Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing testing systems that facilitate the advancement, verification, and validation of Jaguar Land Rover's future propulsion technologies. Your responsibilities will encompass both technical leadership and team management, ensuring the well-being, training, and project allocation of your team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison for our clients, collaborating with key stakeholders to gather testing requirements and formulate a comprehensive project forecast.
- Work closely with the Central Planning Team to comprehend facility strategies and their implications on Test System Design.
- Utilize forecasts to collaborate with peers in generating a resource plan that spans various teams and projects.
- Participate in a squad dedicated to breaking down testing requirements to architect systems that support development and validation efforts.
- Collaborate with facility managers and lead operations engineers to ensure the successful handover of system designs for implementation and operation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an effective leader, capable of guiding a team of engineers in the development of complex systems within an Agile framework, preferably with Scrum experience.
- Background in designing and/or validating electrified powertrains and integrating sophisticated systems.
- Ability to critically assess and challenge existing concepts, processes, and methodologies to enhance team performance.
- Strong communication skills to present and clarify complex technical concepts or project challenges to a varied audience.
- Willingness to travel between engineering sites and testing partners as needed.
