About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Catering Assistant to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our catering team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional food and beverage services to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the wider catering team in the provision of all catering services, including covering and supporting other catering roles as required by the needs of the service.
  • Prepare and serve food in the restaurant, coffee shop, and hospitality/function services.
  • Clean and maintain the catering department, including patient's crockery, cutlery, service utensils, food boxes, patient trays, flight dishwasher, floors, fridges, freezers, and Cook-Chill hold rooms.
  • Ensure basic food hygiene standards are maintained and breaches are communicated appropriately and in a timely manner, in accordance with the departmental food safety documentation.
  • Record accurate temperatures in line with food preparation and cooking procedures - HACCP.
  • Communicate and liaise with staff across the Trust.
