Salary: £60,000+ (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent


We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Design Engineer to join our team at CV-Library. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians, managing deliverables, and working to tight deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop temporary works and permanent works for tunnelling and above-ground structures
  2. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians to ensure successful project delivery
  3. Manage the team's deliverables, including design, documentation, and communication with clients and project construction teams
  4. Implement temporary works design principles and permanent works design standards, including solutions in timber, steel, reinforced concrete, and proprietary structural systems
  5. Coordinate with external consultants and third-party checkers to ensure compliance with industry standards
  6. Engage with clients and project construction teams to ensure successful project delivery
  7. Generate reports and communications for clients, including design approval processes and engineering development


Requirements:

  1. Experience in designing underground structures and tunnelling temporary works
  2. MSC in Civil and Structural Engineering or Degree in Geotechnical and Mining
  3. Design consultancy experience
  4. Chartered status or working towards
  5. CDM Health and Safety knowledge
  6. Technical skills in structural design
  7. Skilled in structural design and with a strong understanding of geotechnical principles
  8. A natural leader, capable of fostering the professional growth of junior engineers

  1. £60,000+ basic salary
  2. Death in Service (4X annual salary)
