Job Title: Children's Residential Care Manager

South Tyneside Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Residential Care Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Residential Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality care and support for children and young people in our residential settings.

About the Role

We are looking for a manager who can lead by example, demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support to children and young people. You will be responsible for ensuring that our residential settings are safe, welcoming, and supportive environments that meet the needs of our service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of residential care staff to deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people.
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of service users.
  • Ensure that all aspects of care and support are delivered in accordance with our policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with other teams and agencies to ensure that our service users receive comprehensive support and care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and support provided in our residential settings.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience of working in a residential care setting.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of staff.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, adolescence, family dynamics, safeguarding, mental health, substance misuse, and domestic violence.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
