Residential Child Care Officer Contract

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Child Care Officer to join our team at South Tyneside Council. As a key member of our Children's Homes Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential provision.
As a Residential Child Care Officer, you will be responsible for building positive relationships with children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and educational well-being. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individual care plans, ensuring that each child's needs are met and their rights are respected.

About the Role- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential provision
- Build positive relationships with children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and educational well-being
- Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individual care plans
- Ensure that each child's needs are met and their rights are respected
- Contribute to the development of a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all children and young people
- Level 3 or 4 Qualification in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
- Previous experience of direct work with children and young people (desirable)
- Ability to place the child or young person and family at the centre of all practice and decision-making
- Willingness to undertake shift work, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays
