Job Summary:
First Military Recruitment Ltd is actively seeking a Marine Survey Specialist to join our esteemed client.

The primary responsibility of the Marine Survey Specialist is to deliver precise survey and positioning services on both Company and Client operated offshore assets. This includes the installation, calibration, and operation of equipment, alongside data acquisition, quality control, field reporting, and final documentation.

The role typically involves working offshore for 6 months, with individual assignments lasting up to 4-5 weeks, although some projects may be shorter.

The offshore uplift is £195 per day.

This position is particularly suited for ex-military personnel, and we encourage applications from former service members.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical expertise and support to the broader survey team.
2. Prepare, install, and calibrate survey equipment during mobilization and demobilization phases.
3. Maintain acquisition logs and utilize reporting templates and relevant documentation.
4. Conduct quality control and assurance on all survey data collected.
5. Assist in ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.
6. Support line planning and other project preparations.
7. Collaborate closely with senior surveyors and project surveyors on deliverables.
8. Aid the Survey Manager in keeping departmental documentation current.
9. Contribute to the writing of mobilization reports, field memos, and field reports as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Degree in geomatics, surveying, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years' experience in offshore survey operations. Experience in rig positioning, construction support, seabed mapping, and land surveying is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of hydrographic theory, including geodesy, hydrography, statistics, offsets, calibrations, tides, and basic oceanography.
• Proficiency in operating industry-standard survey equipment such as DGPS systems, attitude sensors, telemetry systems, subsea acoustic positioning systems, MBES systems, digital video recording systems, Total Stations/RTK systems, and Geophysical data acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with the EIVA software suite, including NaviPac, NaviScan, AutoCAD (preferred), Excel, and Word.
• Valid driving license.
