Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Podiatrist to join our team at Wales Medicines Strategy Group. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering specialist foot care services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality podiatry services to patients, including routine and complex foot care.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure high standards of care.
  • Provide education and training to junior staff and students.
Requirements
  • BSc Degree in Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior to 1992).
  • Health Professions Council (HPC) registration.
  • Certificate in local anaesthesia.
  • Evidence of post-graduate continued development.
  • Evidence of study or intention to study to master's level qualification.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience of working at a band 6 level or above in an acute hospital setting with a high risk caseload.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease/pathology types.
  • Experience of acute and chronic at risk wound care management.
  • Awareness/experience of setting & maintaining clinical standards and clinical audit.
  • Evidence of contribution to change within the workplace.
  • Understanding of role of podiatry within current evolving health environment.
  • Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/clinical education.
