We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Podiatrist to join our team at Wales Medicines Strategy Group. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality foot care services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver specialist foot care services to patients in an outpatient setting
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical standards and clinical audit
- Supervise junior staff and students, providing clinical education and training
- Participate in teaching and presenting research projects to the multidisciplinary team
- BSc Degree in Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior to 1992)
- Health Professions Council (HPC) registration
- Certificate in local anaesthesia
- Evidence of post-graduate continued development
- Evidence of study or intention to study to master's level qualification
- Experience of working at a band 6 level or above in an acute hospital setting with a high risk caseload
- Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease/pathology types
- Awareness/experience of setting & maintaining clinical standards and clinical audit
- Evidence of contribution to change within the workplace
- Understanding of role of podiatry within current evolving health environment
- Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/clinical education
- Actively involved in teaching to the multidisciplinary team
- Evidence of presentation of own research/project work
- Core skills in Podiatry, knowledge of acute foot conditions and wound management
- Ability to undertake intricate work in using sensitive diagnostic tools and a range of surgical instruments
- Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
- Knowledge and understanding of the NICE Diabetes guidelines and NSF in diabetes
- Positive attitude to change
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work within Trust policies, including clinical governance, data protection, equal opportunities, and health and safety
- To manage stressful situations by remaining calm, objective and professional at all times
- Able to carry out concurrent activities (multi-tasking) and work in an unpredictable working pattern
- To be proactive in service development, liaising closely with the MDT in order to promote clinical excellence
- Competent IT skills including use of internet, email and word processing
