We are seeking a dedicated part-time professional with a strong background in the arts to contribute significantly to the evolution and execution of the Fine Art curriculum at our esteemed institution.
As a Fine Art Lecturer, your role will encompass ongoing research, teaching, curriculum innovation, and associated academic responsibilities within the BA Fine Art program. This program emphasizes a hands-on, event-driven learning approach, where students engage in practical experiences, and critical writing is regarded as a vital artistic expression that complements their practical endeavors.
Utilizing your comprehensive subject expertise and industry experience, you will engage in teaching and scholarly activities, including supervision and evaluation of studio work and dissertations.
Collaboration with a diverse team of staff will be essential as you develop industry-relevant teaching methodologies and enhance the course framework to equip students for careers in the global cultural landscape. Your contributions will also aim to diversify the curriculum, challenging traditional narratives in contemporary Fine Art to foster inclusivity.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate qualification and extensive professional experience within the international art community.
Your background should include prior teaching and assessment experience in a higher education setting, leveraging your networks and experiences to prepare students for successful careers in the cultural sectors.
A proven history of innovative practices in areas such as new media, practice-based art writing, exhibition organization, and event management will be advantageous.
Additionally, a strong commitment to mentoring emerging artists and experience in designing knowledge-sharing initiatives will be highly valued.
