Overview

The Operations Team at Energy Systems Catapult is expanding due to an increased demand for our services. We are currently seeking two dedicated individuals to join our team, who will be essential in managing ongoing operations, launching new initiatives, and providing product support across various projects.

Key Projects

Our team is involved in several significant projects aimed at supporting the UK’s transition to Net Zero by 2050.

  • Living Lab: A nationwide initiative that connects real homes to share energy data and participate in trials of innovative eco-technologies. Our team plays a crucial role in facilitating these trials, ensuring high-quality support for participants.
  • Warm Home Prescription: This project assists individuals with chronic health conditions by providing them with a warm living environment. Our operations team is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of this initiative.
  • Net Zero Go: A platform designed to empower local authorities in their Net Zero projects by offering essential tools and resources. Our team provides ongoing support to users, ensuring a positive experience and effective project execution.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be instrumental in enhancing the operational efficiency of our projects through effective communication, task management, and strategic reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering technical support to consumers and stakeholders, including responding to inquiries and managing trial logistics.
  • Engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, utilizing strong communication skills to foster collaboration.
  • Monitoring data quality through analytical tools, identifying discrepancies, and addressing issues as they arise.
  • Documenting and tracking operational challenges within our software platforms.
  • Prioritizing daily tasks and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Participating in risk assessment and quality management processes.
  • Coordinating the installation and removal of technologies in homes, ensuring compliance with selection criteria.
  • Upholding legal standards, including GDPR compliance, with training provided.
  • Adhering to operational procedures and business protocols.

This position reports to the Operations Manager and offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your understanding of the energy sector's challenges related to decarbonization and the journey towards Net Zero.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively. The ability to adapt communication styles to various audiences is essential.

Excellent organizational skills are necessary, as the role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining up-to-date documentation.

A collaborative and flexible approach is vital, as the role requires teamwork across different functions. Candidates should be able to prioritize workloads effectively.

A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving tools and systems is crucial, as the Operations Team continues to expand its support across the organization.

Desired Skills and Experience

Interest in decarbonization and the energy sector is preferred. Experience in customer service or similar roles, along with problem-solving skills, will be advantageous. Familiarity with data analysis, particularly using tools like Tableau, and understanding GDPR compliance are also beneficial.

Experience in managing trials and working within cross-functional teams will be considered an asset.
