Overview:


First Military Recruitment is excited to collaborate with a leading International Defence organization seeking to hire a HGV Vehicle Technician with supervisory expertise on a permanent basis due to expansion.

This role of HGV Vehicle Technician Supervisor transcends a typical mechanic position.

It offers the chance to work on remarkable military vehicles, broadening your mechanical knowledge while providing outstanding career advancement prospects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit processes
  • Managing employee relations including disciplinary actions, grievances, and welfare
  • Performance management encompassing objective setting, appraisals, and addressing poor performance
  • Resource management including absence tracking, annual leave, and overtime utilization
  • System administration for ERP, safety near misses, asset management, and Quality Management System (QMS)

Additionally, you will ensure that stores and equipment allocated to tasks are utilized appropriately.

Diagnosing, inspecting, and evaluating vehicles and related mechanical/electrical equipment in accordance with your skills and competencies is essential.

It is also crucial to return any unused or faulty materials to the section/department Team Leader promptly upon identification.

Responsibilities include creating job cards and requesting materials once relevant ERP (SAP) training has been completed, as well as completing vehicle and equipment documentation and test certificates/reports to current standards.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with heavy vehicles, particularly HGVs
  • Military vehicle experience is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Proficient in managing individuals and teams
  • Competent PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint, ERP systems)
  • Ability to engage in challenging conversations and make rational decisions based on available information
