Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lawyer to join our team as an In-House Legal Advisor for our Energy Sector division. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide specialist in-house legal advice on all aspects of energy infrastructure projects, including development, sales, construction, and operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on complex commercial agreements related to energy infrastructure projects
  • Work closely with commercial leads to develop innovative decarbonisation strategies and advise on contract changes due to upcoming regulation and decarbonisation of the UK heat market
  • Draft and negotiate a full spectrum of commercial contracts, including heat network contracts, ESCO agreements, waste heat off-take agreements, and private wire agreements
  • Support energy solutions business by providing day-to-day assistance on all aspects of development, sale, procurement, construction, and operation of energy solutions projects

Requirements:

  • UK qualified solicitor or barrister
  • Experience advising on complex commercial agreements
  • Business acumen with a practical, commercial approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, with flexibility to work to tight timescales in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of the energy industry or working in a regulated environment is ideal, but not essential
