About Us

Learning with Parents is a leading organization dedicated to empowering families to engage in positive learning interactions. Our mission is to drive innovation in education and tackle inequality by providing a platform for families to learn together.

Our Approach

We partner with 150 primary schools across the UK to support families in enjoying learning together at home. Our approach focuses on reading, with a digital reading log that replaces physical records. This is followed by a comprehensive Maths and English program that builds on the positive habits fostered by our reading log.

Our Technology

We utilize a robust technology stack, including AWS, Vercel, Cloudflare, NextJS, NestJS, GraphQL, Postgres, and a range of cloud services. Our platform is designed to be scalable, secure, and efficient, with a focus on automating and improving development and release processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Resolving Issues
    • Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues with support from the tech lead and development team.
    • Communicate with the school partnership team and content development team to understand requirements and keep them updated on issue progress.
    • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
    • Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience.
    • Provide level 2/3 technical support.
  • Platform Engineering, Pipelines, and Deployment
    • Set up CI/CD pipelines for our products.
    • Build and maintain development tools and infrastructure.
    • Deploy updates and fixes to production environments.
    • Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
    • Build and deploy automation and monitoring solutions.
    • Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Support with Data
    • Liaise with the wider team to understand data needs.
    • Write and review SQL queries, including to extract anonymized data or report statistics.
    • Create data dashboards (potentially with volunteer support).
    • Make sure our Postgres database is operating efficiently and review updates.
  • IT
    • Support with laptop setup.
    • Support with issues with a range of cloud services.
    • Work with users to ensure the tools are meeting user needs and propose solutions.
