Exciting Opportunity: PMLD Support Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated PMLD Support Professional to provide vital assistance to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer one-on-one or small group support to PMLD students, promoting their social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans, ensuring students receive tailored support.
  • Support students with their physical, emotional, and social needs, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help with personal care tasks such as feeding and toileting, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Adapt learning materials to suit students' requirements, promoting accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists for holistic student care, ensuring a comprehensive approach.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, providing valuable insights for educators and caregivers.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with severe special educational needs, demonstrating a commitment to supporting vulnerable students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to student support, creating a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, facilitating effective collaboration with educators and caregivers.
  • Ability to assist with personal care tasks sensitively, respecting students' dignity and autonomy.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning strategies, ensuring students receive evidence-based support.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualifications in special education or childcare, demonstrating a strong foundation in supporting students with complex needs.
