About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Cemetery Grounds Maintenance team, responsible for maintaining various cemeteries within Wirral. The successful candidate will work closely with staff, Friends Groups, service users, and external organizations to provide an excellent service for local people.

About the Candidate:

We are looking for an individual with experience in grounds maintenance, including mowing and vegetation control, maintenance, and management of shrub stock. The ideal candidate will also be able to undertake cleaning operations and assist at burials and within the crematorium.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working within a Cemetery Grounds Maintenance team
  • Assisting and implementing a grass cutting schedule
  • Working with plants
  • Assisting with Grave digging Team
  • Assisting the Crematorium Team with the provision of chapels
  • Carry out other Amenity work when required
Desirable Criteria:
  • Previous experience of working within a cemetery and crematorium environment
  • Towing of Trailers
  • NVQ2 in Amenity Horticulture
