About the Role

We are proud to be working alongside Lyndon SGB, a leading scaffolding and access solutions provider, to find an experienced Scaffolding Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Midlands region.

Job Purpose

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with our team to ensure the profitability of allocated projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing QS support for all projects within the Midlands region
  • Attending customer meetings to discuss project proposals and solutions
  • Understanding current and new contracts within the Midlands region
  • Highlighting and mitigating risks on Midlands projects

Key Responsibilities and Duties

As a Scaffolding Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with our commercial, operations, and design teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Assisting in the preparation of initial budgets and cost plans
  • Supporting the preparation of tender packages, analyzing and comparing quotations received, and making recommendations for appointment
  • Completing sub-contract documentation in accordance with company procedures
  • Managing work packages from appointment through to final account, including certifying payments and issuing notices as required
  • Monitoring works packages against budget, assessing variation claims, and preparing reports for clients
  • Submitting timely requests for payment, agreeing with clients' representatives where necessary, and ensuring payments are received in accordance with agreed timescales
  • Monitoring project progress and issuing notices to clients
  • Internal cost reporting
  • Attending customer meetings to present solutions and discuss proposals
  • Ensuring all administrative tasks are carried out efficiently
  • Staying up-to-date with best practice and industry guidance and implementing as appropriate
  • Supporting and promoting a team culture and company values

Key Working Relationships

You will be responsible for building strong relationships with:

  • Internal stakeholders, including our Regional Manager
  • External customers and key contacts

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience as a Scaffolding Quantity Surveyor
  • Exposure working on major projects for Tier 1/Tier 2 Main Contractors
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar field (although not essential)
  • A UK driving license
