Your Role: Championing Student Success

As a Learning Support Specialist at BIMM Institute, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that students with learning needs or disabilities receive exceptional support services. You'll guide students throughout their educational journey, from application to their initial semester and beyond, creating an accessible and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with students to identify and address their unique learning needs, working alongside applicants and current students.
  • Coordinate with the Disability Services Team and external providers to establish appropriate support and funding for students.
  • Develop comprehensive learner profiles and effectively communicate individual needs to relevant staff members while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in student well-being initiatives, serving as a strong advocate for all students.
  • Partner with the Student Well-being Manager and Admissions team to ensure support needs are met throughout the enrollment and induction processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of student needs, provided support, and actions taken to ensure efficient documentation.

Qualifications:

  • A strong educational background with a degree preferred.
  • Proven experience supporting young adults with special educational needs (SEND), ideally within a Student Well-being capacity.
  • Excellent administrative skills, exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An empathetic and inclusive approach, resilience, and the ability to manage a demanding workload effectively.
  • A deep understanding of the role of Learning Support within a higher education setting.
