Job Title: Specialist Study Skills and Strategy Support Tutor

Beacon Support Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Study Skills and Strategy Support Tutor to join our team. As a Specialist Tutor, you will work one-to-one with Higher Education students who require support with their studies due to Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

About the Role:

This is a specialist role that requires a deep understanding of autistic thinking and learning. You will work closely with students to develop individualized learning plans, providing support and guidance to help them build on their strengths and overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with ASC
  • Provide one-to-one support and guidance to students to help them develop study skills and strategies
  • Work closely with students to identify and build on their strengths and interests
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure a comprehensive support package for students
  • Attend training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree or teaching qualification
  • Experience of working with students with ASC in a Higher Education setting
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and related study skills strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
