Leeds, Leeds, United Kingdom Department of Health and Social Care Full time

Position Overview

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) plays a pivotal role in addressing health and social care challenges that impact everyone. We are seeking two dynamic professionals: a Marketing Manager and a Partnerships Manager, to join our high-performing team in a vibrant and fast-paced communications setting.

The Behavioural Programmes Unit (BPU) specializes in behavior change and implements globally recognized initiatives that encourage individuals of all ages to adopt healthier lifestyles for improved physical and mental well-being.

This role involves executing high-profile, multi-channel marketing campaigns and fostering collaborations with both commercial and public sector partners.

As a Marketing Manager, you will possess proven expertise in launching audience-specific marketing behavior change initiatives across diverse marketing channels, including advertising, public relations, social media, and digital platforms.

The Partnerships Manager will play a crucial role in supporting our significant collaborations with various partners. This position will focus on building enduring relationships with organizations across multiple industries, creating partnerships that drive large-scale behavior change.

Both roles require candidates to demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, effective time management, and the ability to adapt and deliver projects promptly, often under tight deadlines.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a welcoming team, gaining comprehensive experience in delivering impactful campaigns that address some of the most pressing health challenges facing the nation.

Join an organization dedicated to diversity and inclusion, offering a wide range of training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

These positions will contribute to our campaign initiatives for the upcoming period, including:

  • Executing innovative and effective multi-channel marketing campaigns, taking ownership of specific campaign components while ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. This may involve developing campaign messaging, creative content, public relations efforts, partnership activities, and conducting research and evaluations.
  • Supporting partnership marketing initiatives by providing resources for partners, enabling commercial, charitable, and public sector collaborators to enhance our campaigns and promote public health.
  • Managing daily campaign budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners, collaborating with teams across DHSC and the broader health system, including the NHS and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), to execute campaigns effectively.
  • Engaging with key public sector stakeholders, which may include local authorities, community supporters, educational institutions, NGOs, and the NHS.
  • Utilizing various electronic customer relationship management (e-CRM) systems and our Campaign Resource Centre for resource management.
  • Coordinating with external creative, production, partnership, and media agencies to ensure the timely and budget-conscious delivery of planned marketing activities.
  • Drafting responses to parliamentary inquiries, Freedom of Information requests, and general correspondence, ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely handling.

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in executing communication campaigns across various channels, including public relations, partnerships, and both owned and paid media. Strong knowledge of digital and social media channels is essential.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management capabilities, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality projects within tight deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a strong personal impact.
  • Ability to build robust working relationships across a diverse partner network, understanding their perspectives and representing their needs effectively.
  • Experience collaborating with creative, partnership, production, digital, and media buying agencies.
  • Experience in managing campaign budgets effectively.

Work Environment

Your primary workplace will be your contractual base, typically either London or Leeds. DHSC offers flexible hybrid working arrangements, with an expectation of at least 60% of your working time spent in the office to facilitate in-person collaboration and support.

During the application process, you will be asked to indicate your location preference. Please note that this role is only available for candidates based in the UK, and some travel may be required across DHSC locations.

Opportunities for remote work may be available, and other flexible working arrangements can be discussed with the hiring manager based on individual circumstances and business needs.

  • Delivering Results
