Specialist Doctor in Colorectal Surgery

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Doctor in Colorectal Surgery to join our team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a Specialist Doctor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with colorectal conditions, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
Main Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive colorectal and general surgical services, including emergency surgical cover at the Trust.
- Undertake elective surgical lists in colorectal surgery and general surgery.
- Work with local managers and professional colleagues to efficiently run services and share medical contributions to management.
- Supervise junior medical staff and devote time to this activity on a regular basis.
University Hospitals of North Midlands has two sites: Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital. We provide a full range of general acute hospital services for people living in and around Staffordshire and beyond. Our specialised services include cancer diagnosis and treatment, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, renal and dialysis services, neonatal intensive care, and paediatric intensive care.
Person Specification- Full registration with GMC.
- Success in Intercollegiate specialty examination or overseas equivalent or specialty accreditation if acquired prior to introduction of such examinations.
- Clinical training and experience in General Surgery, colorectal surgery.
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems both emergency and elective within specialty.
