Job Summary
The Early Years Leader will oversee the delivery of a fun and engaging program for children aged 4-5 years old, ensuring all Early Years Foundation Stage requirements are met. This role requires a highly organized and enthusiastic individual with experience in childcare and a passion for developing children through play and activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality program that meets the needs of individual children from differing backgrounds and stages of development.
- Supervise and engage with children outside of activity times, ensuring their welfare and safety at all times.
- Work closely with the Camp Manager to promote the welfare of children in care and ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Lead a team of Early Years staff, providing direction and support to ensure high-quality childcare is delivered at all times.
- Prepare and deliver quality sports, arts, and crafts activities, focusing on participation, development, and enjoyment.
- Manage administrative duties, including sign-in/out, registration, and communication with parents.
- Ensure all Ofsted requirements are met, liaising directly with inspectors as needed.
- Live up to the Ultimate Activity Camp promise of 'Inspiring Children Every Day' and behave in a manner that reflects the expectations of the company.
- Participate in pre-camp training and ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Educated to a minimum of Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare or Primary Education, with significant experience working with 4- and 5-year-olds.
- Experience of working with children and delivering activities, with the ability to tailor delivery and structure according to age and ability.
- Good organization and communication skills, with the ability to lead a group of children and take responsibility.
- Good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its application in a camp setting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with parents and colleagues.
- A proactive and conscientious team player, able to adapt to dynamic situations and challenges.
Desirable Requirements
- Some management or supervisory experience.
- Experience taking sole charge of a group of children.
- Hold a Paediatric First Aid (12 hour or 6 hour) qualification.
