Job Title: Automation Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at Minstrell Recruitment Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing front-line support for controls system-related issues, coaching the Engineering team to improve their diagnostic skills, and ensuring the smooth operation of our automated warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical knowledge and support for controls system-related issues
  • Coach the Engineering team to improve their diagnostic skills and identify controls issues
  • Ensure the smooth operation of our automated warehouse
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to improve controls system architecture and field control devices
  • Develop and implement online code monitoring and modification/development with Siemens S7 300/400 PLCs
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures
  • Work effectively in a team environment to achieve business objectives

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Engineering or equivalent Engineering Technician apprenticeship or experience
  • PLC training or appropriate experience
  • PLC and Controls & Electrical and/or mechanical skills preferably gained in an FMCG background
  • Computer literate in MS Office package, ability to use a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Physically able to carry out engineering activities within the Automated Warehouse
  • English Language ability such that able to read and understand safety information, technical manuals and data, and communicate clearly with colleagues to enable a safe environment
