At Knightwood Associates, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Associate to join our team in Central London. As a key member of our design team, you will provide crucial technical advice to leading construction clients, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act (BSA) across high-risk buildings throughout RIBA stages 2-6.

The successful candidate will work closely with practices, developers, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Attending design team and workshop meetings to ensure effective collaboration and communication
  • Preparing and producing BSA progress reports at the end of each RIBA stage/gateway submission
  • Liaising with clients to ensure compliance with BSA requirements
  • Participating in design development and ensuring a mandatory reporting plan is in place throughout the design phase
  • Ensuring the fire and emergency file is in place during the design phase
  • Monitoring the competency of the design team

Ideal candidates will possess an accreditation in a related discipline and have extensive experience working on complex schemes from inception to practical completion. Site-based experience and confidence in liaising with external teams is also desirable. This role has the potential to develop into a management position, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates who have managed internal teams.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the new Gateway 2 requirements and extensive, up-to-date knowledge of the BSA. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the prevention and resolution of some of the industry's most pressing issues. In return, we offer a competitive salary of £65k - £75k depending on experience, with the option to work from home on Fridays.
