About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our team. As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for defining and implementing category strategies for key spend areas, providing high-quality goods and services, and managing a team of Buyers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement category/commodity strategies that deliver cost savings/reduction
- Manage a team of Buyers, ensuring they are correctly managing their categories, suppliers, and delivering against their cost savings and other targets
- Run strategic sourcing projects, tender processes, negotiations, contract awards, and supplier relationship management
- Build excellent relationships with key departmental stakeholders, guiding and advising on procurement best practice

Requirements
- Proven experience of developing and implementing procurement category/commodity strategies that deliver cost savings/reduction
- Experience of working with both domestic and international suppliers
- Ability to travel both in the UK and overseas when needed
