About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Finance and Commercial team at the Royal British Legion. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering strong and effective financial management within your designated Directorate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Directors, and Heads of Departments to support the preparation of long-term strategic plans, annual budgets, and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Take a lead role in ensuring that new projects are subject to effective financial planning and commercial control, influencing budget holders and providing technical and strategic insight to achieve the Directorates' overall objectives.
  • Review and challenge draft budgets and forecasts to ensure submissions are complete, accurate, deliver value for money, and remain within overall financial framework targets.
  • Lead the review of the monthly management reports and ensure comprehensive and insightful analysis and commentary on key variances.
  • Attend monthly management meetings to present consolidated and departmental monthly financial results, drawing out major financial trends and issues.
  • Manage a Finance Business Partner.

Working Arrangements

You will be contracted to our London, Haig House, Hub. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.
