Management Accountant / Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join our dynamic team at Building Careers UK in Skelmersdale.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including purchase and sales ledgers.
  2. Prepare and review financial statements, including month-end journals and management accounts.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  4. Manage bank accounts and cash flow within the group.
  5. Oversee the credit card payment system.
General Role:
  1. Act as a business partner to various areas across the business, providing financial expertise and guidance.
  2. Perform month-end routines, including commentary, analysis, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliation.
  3. Prepare budgets and forecasts.
  4. Assist in the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  5. Reconcile nominal ledger accounts.
  6. Undertake ad-hoc project work and analysis as required.
  7. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  1. Strong knowledge of financial skills and procedures.
  2. Excellent Excel skills.
  3. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
