The Payments Association is on the lookout for a dynamic Editorial Director to spearhead our publishing and membership initiatives, ensuring the delivery of top-notch content that aligns with our members' needs.

This role is pivotal in guiding and overseeing our policy, project management, editorial, and content marketing teams to enhance member engagement and elevate the association's presence in the industry.

The Editorial Director will collaborate closely with the membership and event product teams, as well as senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team comprising an Editor, Head of Projects, Content Marketer, Head of Policy, and Reporter.
  • Ensure the department meets its objectives and contributes to the successful execution of the content strategy and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Oversee the production of key publications to ensure they meet established standards and performance indicators.
  • Facilitate member access to content benefits outlined in their membership agreements.
  • Collect and analyze customer insights in partnership with sales and marketing teams.
  • Utilize content and marketing strategies to enhance the association's visibility and awareness.
  • Drive member engagement through valuable content to support satisfaction and retention.
  • Shape the editorial strategy based on customer insights to deliver high-quality business information.
  • Develop the association's voice through content, policy initiatives, and marketing efforts.
  • Manage the editorial advisory board.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven leadership experience in a corporate, membership, or trade association context.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong research, writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in producing written, audio, and visual content.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, WordPress, and other publishing platforms.
  • Understanding of SEO and social media best practices.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Knowledge of government relations and public policy.
  • Strong social media and public relations experience.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in government relations and public policy.
  • Project management experience with working groups and events.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot.
  • Experience in chairing and moderating events and webinars.
