About the Role

Vallum Associates is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Data Product Owner to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering value from data to stakeholders, defining business requirements, and prioritizing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Business Value: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Define Business Requirements: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document business requirements, ensuring that they are well-understood and prioritized.
  • Communicate Effectively: Share data team capabilities and tools with stakeholders, helping them to improve processes and make informed decisions.
  • Document Requirements: Use identified tools and techniques to document requirements, business outcomes, data flows, and data.
  • Ensure Business Value: Ensure that the business value of requirements is understood by the team and that projects are prioritized accordingly.
  • Support Delivery: Collaborate with engagement partners to deliver requirements through analysis and testing, as needed.
  • Communicate Timelines: Provide transparency to stakeholders on timelines, expected outcomes, and project progress.
  • Embed Service Excellence: Embed Service Excellence principles in data contracts, ensuring that they are aligned with business objectives.
  • Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with the technology stack, data architecture, and data culture principles to represent the data team effectively.
  • Expertise in Data: Develop expertise in specific datasets, interrogate data, and specify views to support reporting requirements.

  • Data Mapping and Transformation: Have experience in capturing, defining, and specifying data mapping and transformation rules.
  • Scaled Agile Environment: Thrive in a scaled agile environment involving cross-functional execution teams.
  • Coordination: Possess the ability to coordinate requirements and outcomes across multiple functions within the Data team.
  • Technical Skills: Have good knowledge of SQL, with knowledge of data modeling concepts and data management techniques being advantageous.
  • Desirable Skills: Possess skills in implementing reports/analytics, knowledge of AWS and Snowflake, and experience in the Insurance sector.
