Job Summary

TPF Recruitment is seeking an accomplished Bookkeeper/Accountant to join a reputable accounting firm in the Surrey area. This role offers a flexible schedule, with the option of a 4 or 5-day workweek, and requires some travel flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Provide bookkeeping services for various clients using Xero and Sage Line50, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Payroll Administration: Post monthly payroll journals, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
  • Asset Management: Conduct fixed asset reconciliations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date asset records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly management accounts packs for clients, providing valuable insights into their financial performance.
  • Accounts Preparation: Prepare and submit accounts for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Tax Planning: Draft corporation tax computations for review by the tax team, ensuring accurate and timely tax planning.
  • Auditor Liaison: Liaise with external auditors to resolve any queries or issues, ensuring smooth audit processes.
  • BACS Administration: Set up BACS payment runs for clients, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
  • P11D Reporting: Identify clients with P11D reporting requirements and collate information to assist with the completion of P11Ds.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified or QBE Accountant.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with clients and internal team members, with the ability to communicate problems encountered with team members.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize workloads and meet strict reporting deadlines.
  • Technical Skills: Experience of bookkeeping using Xero & Sage Line 50, accounts preparation software (CCH desirable but not essential), and corporation tax preparation software (CCH desirable but not essential).
  • Payroll Experience: Experience of processing payroll journals and facilitating BACS payment runs for clients.
