About the Role

The Sales Operations function at AspenTech is responsible for providing best-in-class deal management support to sales teams. As a Deal Desk Analyst, you will be an extension of the sales teams, helping them achieve their sales objectives each quarter.

This role is based out of the Reading regional office and is part of a Global Deal Management team. You will be responsible for providing support during the quote to contract process, developing strong relationships with peers and business partners, and working in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quote Management: Generates both standard and non-standard quotes to support sales efforts, including software, maintenance renewals, and services-related orders.
  • Support to Sales Team: Provides support and assistance to the Sales team as needed to support the quote to contract process.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with Sales, Licensing, and Accounting to enter customer orders.
  • Authorization and Approvals: Administers the Authorization and Approvals policy (A&A policy), coordinating the approval process by obtaining approvals per policy and ensuring compliance to both process and policy.
Order Process Management
  • Quote Preparation: Prepares quotes, reviews for accuracy and completeness, and obtains required approvals per policy.
  • CRM Updates: Updates in-house CRM systems to ensure up-to-date information is readily available.
  • Order Closure: Provides general data to Finance to close orders and process them for invoicing.
  • Global Sales Admin Support: Provides support and assistance to the Global Sales Admin Team as and when required.
Licensing Administration
  • License Support: Supports license administration by preparing required documentation, ensuring customer requirements from quotes and contracts are accurately reflected in the license configuration details.
Document Handling & Coordination
  • Documentation Requirements: Demonstrates understanding of the documentation requirements for each process.
  • Document Security: Ensures all documentation is secured in the appropriate system(s).
  • Reporting: Demonstrates familiarity with current sales forecast and provides various reports as needed.
Requirements
  • Relationship Management: Strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to work with and manage the expectations of business partners and understand customer requirements.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a geographically dispersed group.
  • Time Management: Ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated with the ability to learn complex systems quickly.
  • Organization: Well-organized and methodical, with the ability to multi-task efficiently.
  • International Sales Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced international sales environment.
  • Additional Hours: Able to work additional hours during peak periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial Experience: Experience working on commercial quotes, commercial/technical proposals, order preparation, and ERP systems.
  • Business Applications: Knowledge of back-office business applications such as Epicor, Oracle, and Salesforce.
  • Excel Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Language Skills: English (required), second language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
