Our network comprises 3000 community-led groups, each committed to nurturing local youth through various initiatives. These grassroots organizations often face significant funding and resource challenges.

Our mission is to equip these local champions with essential professional guidance, resources, and operational assistance, all at no cost, to ensure their sustainability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive Fundraising Strategy, including annual plans and income objectives, aligned with our organizational goals.
  • Oversee the strategic approach to all fundraising efforts, managing diverse income streams from statutory bodies, trusts, foundations, corporate partners, individual donors, events, and community contributions.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with corporate sponsors, high-net-worth individuals, and philanthropic organizations, focusing on long-term partnerships.
  • Design tailored fundraising products that address the unique needs of corporate partners while enhancing the impact of the Sported network.
  • Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, collaborating with Board members on fundraising prospects and providing insights during Board meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Communications to develop a marketing strategy that elevates the profile of Sported and the broader sport-for-good sector.
  • Establish a credible pipeline of multi-year funding sources, targeting an annual contribution of over £250k.
  • Achieve a minimum of £1m in new multi-year partnerships each financial year by diversifying revenue streams and enhancing corporate engagement.
  • Monitor industry trends to ensure Sported remains relevant and aligned with emerging opportunities.
  • Track and report on fundraising performance metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to address challenges and seize opportunities.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required to support the organization’s mission.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, engaging with colleagues across the organization.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives through comprehensive performance metrics and timely reporting.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in achieving fundraising targets and cultivating relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in crafting compelling proposals and reports that inspire donor support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and performance metrics effectively.
  • Experience in leading and motivating fundraising teams to create a results-driven culture.
  • Inspirational leader with the ability to engage and empower team members through a clear vision and decisive action.
  • Skilled in balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution of fundraising activities.
