As a crucial member of our engineering team, you will ensure the safety and efficiency of airport operations through the maintenance and installation of Airfield Ground Lighting systems. This role involves performing routine checks, aligning, and installing various lighting solutions, including High Mast Lighting, generators, and control systems, in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Main Responsibilities:

  • Document and maintain records of all maintenance, alignment, and installation activities as per the established Codes of Practice.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and installation of additional Airport Aeronautical Ground Lighting equipment as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, ensuring compatibility with your training and experience.
  • Participate in training courses as directed to enhance your skills and maintain compliance with required standards.
  • Execute planned maintenance schedules effectively.
  • Support the efficient operation of the Airfield Engineering stores.
  • Assist in the training of junior engineers or apprentices as needed.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with current Electrical Regulations and the Company's Quality Management procedures.

This position is based on-site, and candidates should be located within a reasonable commuting distance. We seek individuals with a background in electrical engineering or contracting, ideally holding a recognized qualification such as NVQ3 in Electrical Installation. Candidates should possess fault-finding experience and be qualified to the 18th Edition (BS7671).
Key Skills:

We value a systematic approach to problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to take initiative. Strong verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with contractors, Air Traffic Control, colleagues, and management. Additionally, proficiency in written communication is vital for producing precise technical documentation and professional reports.


While prior experience in an Aerodrome or ATC environment is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement.
